Sehwag named India vice-captain

Opening batsman Virender Sehwag has been named the vice-captain of the Indian team for the upcoming One-Day Internationals and Test series against England.

The Delhi cricketer is also the vice-captain of the team for the fourth and final Test against Australia following Mahendra Singh Dhoni's elevation to Test captaincy after the sudden retirement of Anil Kumble.

In the one-dayers, however, Sehwag replaced Yuvraj Singh, who has been struggling with his form for sometime now.

"Virender Sehwag will be the vice-captain of the Indian team for the Nagpur Test against Australia, as well as the ODI and Test series against England," BCCI Secretary N Srinivasan said in a statement issued on Friday.

England arrived on Thursday to play seven ODIs and two Tests in India starting from November 14.
